Two people are dead after their car hit another vehicle going the wrong way on U.S. 90 in the early hours of Christmas morning, according to authorities.
Officials from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the incident took place at roughly 4 a.m. near the Crosby area.
Information from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and HCSO officials detailed what authorities believe took place.
Deputies said a Dodge Charger was going southbound in the northbound lanes on U.S. 90 before striking a Toyota Tacoma head-on.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, that was going the right way, was identified as a 45-year-old male. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
The two passengers in the Dodge Charger which was going the wrong way were identified as a 58-year-old Black man and his passenger was identified as a juvenile. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
