An accident on the A30 in Cornwall has caused severe traffic delays after a car left the carriageway.

There are reports of heavy traffic on the A30 in Hayle following an accident near the B3301 Carwin Rise, Loggans Moor roundabout at around 1:35pm today (January 8).

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed a vehicle went down a bank, and an air ambulance is transporting one casualty to hospital.

One lane has been closed.

Roads and traffic monitoring website INRIX reports: “Reports of heavy traffic due to accident, a car has left the carriageway involved on A30 near B3301 Carwin Rise (Loggans Moor roundabout).”

Witnesses from the scene report that there is currently a heavy emergency service presence and the air ambulance has been spotted circling the area.

It is not currently known how serious any injuries are.
