An air ambulance has been called out after a crash on a main road near the Leicestershire village of Lowesby.

A doctor has been flown into the scene in Melton Road after a car crashed into a tree.

The road has been closed by police, with the fire service called to remove one casualty from the car.

The incident is ongoing with traffic building up on the road due to the closure.
