A paramedic has died and three other people have been injured after an ambulance and a lorry crashed on the A21 at the Sevenoaks bypass.

A cement lorry and an ambulance were involved in the incident at around 8.15pm yesterday (January 5) near Tonbridge on the coastbound carriageway.

The air ambulance was called out to the scene, as well as officers from Kent Police.

Police have begun an investigation and are looking for witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident.

The A21 was closed as a result, with the road closed for some time while recovery work took place.

By 7.40am the road had reopened and by 9am delays had seemingly cleared.
