There is heavy traffic on a section of the M66 this morning after a crash.

Two lanes are currently closed off on the southbound carriageway just after junction three for Hollins.

Emergency services are at the scene.

Congestion is currently back to junction one for Ramsbottom.

In a tweet, TfGM said: “M66 J4 to J3 – Southbound. Lanes 1 and 2 are currently blocked. Congestion back to J1.

“This is due to an RTC. Emergency services are on the scene.

“Please re-time or re-route your journey.

“Follow @HighwaysNWEST for updates.”
