Two lanes closed on the A27 after a crash on the Shoreham bypass early on Wednesday January 12.

Traffic queued for four miles due to an accident involving two vehicles travelling eastbound between A283 Steyning Road and the A270 Upper Shoreham Road.

Congestion built up back to Sompting Church turn-off and along the A259 on the coast as traffic diverted.

Travel times for drivers was around 30 minutes whilst clean up operations were underway.

West Sussex Fire And Rescue Service said they attended the scene, with crews from Shoreham and Worthing fire stations on hand to help.

Drivers were advised to find alternative routes where possible for their journeys.
