CRAIG COUNTY, Okla. – A head-on crash claims one life in northeast Oklahoma.
It happened on January 8, 2022, on US-60 about four miles east of Vinita, Oklahoma in Craig County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Ford focus traveling east went left of center and collided with a semi-truck head-on.
The driver of the Focus, Lance Powell, 29, of Afton, OK, was pinned and pronounced dead on the scene according to the police.
The driver of the semi-truck, William Taylor, 41, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, was not injured.
Authorities say that both drivers wore their seatbelts during the crash. They add in the crash report that there were cloudy conditions and wet roadways.
