A four-car crash on the A13 London-bound caused a road blockage near Basildon this afternoon (January 13).

Essex County Council’s traffic control department said that the collision, involving four vehicles, happened just after the Five Bells interchange.

The Five Bells interchange on the A13 is in Fobbing, Stanford-le-Hope, just outside Basildon, Essex.

Essex County Council Traffic Control posted on Twitter at around 4.20pm: “A13 Londonbound – Road blocked due to an accident involving four vehicles just after the Five Bells interchange.”

It is expected that there will be significant delays while the crash is cleared. However, it is not yet known how serious the incident is, or how long traffic will be affected.
