Lanes were closed following a crash on the M1 motorway in Bedfordshire today (Wednesday, January 5).
The collision and closure were first reported at around 7.20am – with the road clearing by 9.30am.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “Lanes 1, 2 and 3 (of 4) are now CLOSED on the M1 southbound between J13 Bedford and J12 Toddington. Emergency services are in attendance. There are currently delays of 25 minutes on the approach to the incident.”
Inrix, the traffic data company, said: “Three lanes closed, severe delays and queueing traffic for five miles due to accident, a van and a lorry involved on M1 Southbound from J13 A421 Bedford Road (Bedford / Milton Keynes South) to J12 A5120 Harlington Road (Flitwick). Travel time is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
“Lane one, two and three (of four) are closed.”
