M6 northbound closed due to ‘serious’ crash πŸ’₯πŸš‘πŸš“πŸš‘πŸš“πŸš‘πŸš“πŸ’₯

The M6 has been closed near Rugby tonight due to what is being described as a “serious” crash.

The motorway has been shut northbound between M1 junction 19 (Catthorpe Interchange) and A436 junction 1 (Rugby / Lutterworth).

According to traffic monitoring website Inrix, traffic has been stationary since 19:55, Thursday 6th January.

At present, there is no information available to suggest when the road will be reopened and traffic released.

Highways England have described the accident as “serious” and have confirmed it took place at around 7.35pm. They are at the scene and are assisting with traffic management.

All emergency services are in attendance.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes.
