A motorcyclist seriously injured in a crash between Geraldine and Fairlie has been airlifted to Christchurch Hospital.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) spokeswoman said a rescue helicopter had been sent to the scene of the crash on the Geraldine-Fairlie Highway.
She said Fenz staff helped co-ordinate a rescue helicopter landing and traffic control at the scene following the crash which was reported at 11.23am on Sunday.
A St John spokesperson said it attended the incident with two first response units.
“We have treated and transported one patient in serious condition to Christchurch Hospital via helicopter.”
