Twin brothers from Pawtucket, Rhode Island were killed Friday, Christmas Eve, in a single-car crash on Interstate 195 in in Mattapoisett, reports said.

Alberto and Ruddy Morales, 33, were driving westbound on I-195 when they crashed into the highway median, according to NBC Boston. The brothers were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford where they were pronounced dead.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the victims’ identities Friday, WCVB reported.

The crash happened just after 11 a.m., Massachusetts State Police said. First responders found the pair inside their Honda Accord, crashed into a wooded area separating the two sides of the highway.

The left two lanes of the westbound side of I-195 were closed for two hours, officials said.

The state police, including the agency’s Collision Analysis Reconstruction unit, are investigating the crash.

On Saturday, Christmas, state police reported multiple crashes and cars sliding off of icy roads. In New Hampshire, Nashua police responded to 15-car crash on U.S. Route 3, known as the Everett Turnpike. A Massachusetts Department of Transportation spokesperson also said New Hampshire State Police had warned of a β€œpileup” just over the border from Salisbury, Massachusetts. Police in Holland also reported a rollover crash due to icy roads.
