COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – Three people were killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 49 at Mississippi Highway 589 near Seminary.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol MSG. Chase Elkins, the crash happened around 10:05 a.m. Wednesday.

Elkins said a 2008 International Tractor-Trailer, driven by 31-year-old Quentin Harvey of Donalsonville, Ga., traveled south on U.S. 49 when he collided with a 2010 Toyota Sienna, driven by 29-year-old Georgia Brazieal, of Seminary, traveling east across U.S. 49.

The crash stalled traffic on the southbound left lane on U.S. 49.

Brazieal and passengers, 4-year-old Colton Morgan and 1-month-old Waylon Blakeney, received fatal injuries from the crash, according to Elkins.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the traffic alert was expected to be cleared by around 3 p.m.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
