Woman killed, child injured in SUV crash with box truck in Montcalm County πŸ’₯πŸš‘πŸš“πŸš‘πŸš“πŸš‘πŸš“πŸ’₯

A 39-year-old woman was killed in a crash on M-46 in Montcalm County, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP).

Troopers from the MSP Lakeview Post responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash resulting in fatal injuries to a 39-year-old female from Nunica, Michigan. Troopers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:24 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, on M-46 near Fitzner Rd. in Montcalm County’s Cato Township, Michigan State Police said in a news release.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Nissan Armada, driven by a 39-year-old female from Nunica, was traveling east on M-46 when the driver crossed the center line and struck a box truck traveling west on M-46. The female was declared deceased on scene, police said.

Her 8-year-old son, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The 31-year-old male driver of the box truck was uninjured, police said.

The Michigan State Police continues to investigate the crash. Troopers were assisted on scene by Lakeview Fire, Montcalm County EMS, Montcalm County Central Dispatch, MSP Sixth District Accident Reconstructionist, and MSP Grand Rapids Post troopers.
