A Massachusetts woman is dead after she collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 24 in Berkley, according to state police.Troopers responded at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday to reports of a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes of the highway.As state police were responding, 911 callers reported that the vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, had collided with a tractor-trailer in the area of Exit 13.Troopers and paramedics with Berkley Emergency Medical Services found the driver of the Chevy, identified as 40-year-old Sara Paulo, of Somerset, suffering from serious injuries she suffered during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 35-year-old man from Santa Ana, California, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, state police said.The exact cause and circumstances of the crash are being investigated by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police, the MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the MSP Crime Scene Services Section, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the state police detective unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
